I have joined ISOGG in 2015. Since most of my ancestors lived in Poland my main area of genealogical interest lies in this region and the neighbouring countries. I have been involved in a few projects such as BaSIA (Database of Archival Indexing System) and Poznan Project, having transcribed over 15,000 records from the 19th century documents issued in the area of Greater Poland. As a descendant of olędrzy (settlers who came to Poland from the Netherlands and Prussia between the 16th and 18th centuries), I hope that with the advent of commercial DNA testing it will become possible to learn more about the past of this relatively unknown group of people.
