From ISOGG Wiki

By day, I'm a network administrator in Information Technology for the Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG), U.S. Army. I also volunteer my services with Gerontology Research Group, a non-profit organization that studies and combats aging as well as validating the ages of the oldest people in the world, as a North America Correspondent and as a Technical Support Database Administrator. I maintain several Tables listing all of the verified oldest people in the world and put them on the GRG's website. I am also a graduate student studying Gerontology at University of Southern California (online) for my Master of Arts degree with the original intent to focus into the areas of Biostatistics or Biodemography since I work with population numbers and mortality rates.

I am an adoptee (at birth) and I have been fortunate to not only learn about my birth mother and her family in January 2012 but to meet her as well in October 2012. Also, during the summer of 2012, a paternity test with the putative birth father was negative, so finally in December 2013, I began my quest to learn about how autosomal and Y-chromosome DNA testing may help me in search of my unknown birth father. This was how I learned about ISOGG and the various direct-to-consumer DNA companies.

I have had received all my results in February 2014, and I received the typical 3rd to distant cousin matches at all three main autosomal DNA testing companies. I finally had my birth relatives tested at one testing company, and their results just arrived in June 2014. This should help me to continue my search for my unknown birth father, which is something I haven't given much thought about lately. :-)

My future plans is possibly to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Statistical Genetics & Genetic Epidemiography (also at USC) because of my new-found fascination with the human genome and how genetics perfectly plays a pivotal role in gerontology (study of aging).
