Invalid Reference and Link

Footnote 28 reads: "Robert Tarin applies the same function at http://www.isogg.org/wiki/Y-DNA_tools > A non-paternity event calculator." I've searched and read through the target Wiki page a few times, but can find no reference to the non-paternity event calculator. The Discussion for that page makes no mention of it being removed, and I can't see anything in the change history that references it. It seems that #28 should actually reference a section on this same page, https://isogg.org/wiki/Non-paternity_event#Tools under "Tools" where it is the only item described. However, the link there points to a ZIP file at the domain iberianroots.com, which is actually up for sale and seems to no longer have any content. Google turns up no other hits for "Tarin" and "non-paternity." Being a newbie on the block, I wanted to raise the matter here before editing the page to remove that source ref and delete the "Tools" section.   Ed Williams (talk) 16:14, 10 May 2018 (EDT)

  • Ed, Thanks for pointing this out. I've found the link to Robert Tarin's tool by looking at a version of the Y-DNA tools page at the time that James wrote the NPE article. You can find the page here. It seems to have been a spreadsheet but the website is no longer available so it would be best if it could be removed. Thanks for helping with the Wiki editing. The link on the Y-DNA tools page must have been removed at some point when the page got re-organised. DebbieKennett (talk) 12:55, 16 May 2018 (EDT)
    • Thank you, Debbie. I removed the inline reference and hid the "Tools" section with the link to Dr. Tarin's spreadsheet. Ed Williams (talk) 13:42, 18 May 2018 (EDT)
